Rupert and the Old Hat story starts in the paper on 1st February 2020 with Rupert’s mummy spring cleaning in the box room and finding a hat she used to wear.
The story originally appeared in the Express in 1957 and was reprinted in the 1965 Rupert Annual.
Rupert and the Magic Ball concluded on 31st January after 42 episodes. After a number of unusual experiences for Rupert with the ball, the blame was placed at the Conjuror’s door as it had been filled with the wrong magic. For some reason the Express has not printed the last six episodes of the story, missing the moral of the story - Rupert not wanting a magic ball because he wanted to play fairly with his chums.
