Rupert and the Castle Trap story commenced in the Daily Express on 18th July 2023. Illustrated by Alex Cubie, it first appeared in the daily paper in the summer of 1972 and later in the 1981 Rupert Annual.
Rupert is helping his father in the garden and is soon distracted when Bingo appears at the gate.
Rupert and the Blue Star, an Alfred Bestall story, concluded after 56 episodes when Sailor Sam returns Rupert safely to his mother after his adventure. The mention of hunting for treasure seems to set the scene for a possible future story.
