Rupert and the Windy Day story started in the Daily Express on Tuesday 19th April. An Alfred Bestall story originally appearing in the newspaper in the autumn of 1956, it was reprinted in the 1976 Rupert Annual and has had further outings in two Rupert comics plus reprinting in the newspaper in 2002 and 2013.
A flashing light in a distant tree gets Rupert’s attention and he goes off to investigate.
Rupert and the Little River came to a successful conclusion in the paper the day before, with Rupert safely returning to tell Mrs Bear of his exciting adventure.
