The 2022 Annual - our Fun Day and AGM
This year our AGM and Fun Day returned to a Midlands venue - not the School of many past years, but to the Radcliffe Centre, part of the University of Warwick, near Coventry.
The venue fulfilled (or exceeded) expectations, with superb en-suite on site accommodation and rooms which were ideal for all our needs.

On Friday evening some Followers started to arrive and gathered for a lovely meal together. After the meal there was a Rupert Quiz, once again organised by Mark Hackney. The winning team recieved a unique tile with this year's annual cover printed on it. By coincidence, the winning team of last year's quiz was able to claim the prize again this year.
Saturday kicked off as usual with The Dealers' Bourse
Welcomed by the dragon:
There were interesting talks throughout the day:
Mark Manley gave a talk about the making of Rupert and the Water Fairy, a brand new Rupert story drawn and written by former Daily Express Rupert illustrator; John Harrold, and coloured by Mark Manley himself. He gave some behind-the-scenes info and showd how he coloured the story and which techniques he uses for this.
After Mark's talk there was a change for the Follower's to see Jenny Kisler's personal archive. In 2020 she sadly passed away at the age of 84. Her Rupert archive had been kindly handed over to The Followers of Rupert by her children in 2022. The Followers are very grateful for that.
