Rupert and the New Bonnet started in the Daily Express on Thursday 27th October.
It is nice to see that the person who chooses these reprints from earlier Rupert Annuals has now returned to the correct season with the initial episode of this adventure making references to fireworks.
Originally appearing in the Daily Express in the autumn of 1951, this Bestall story was later reprinted in colour in the 1958 Rupert Annual and more recently was reprinted in the Daily Express in 2008.
Rupert and the Pepper-Rose, an out-of-season spring time adventure, concluded successfully after 32 episodes when Rupert solves the Nutwood "sneezing" mystery with the help of the Imps of Spring.
