It's 2020 - Rupert is 100 this year!
As most of you are well aware, in 2020 Rupert celebrates his 100th birthday.
He first appeared, in the pages of the Daily Express, on 8th November 1920, so this year will see his centenary. He still looks pretty good for his age! We are sure there will be plenty of interest in Rupert this year, in the media and in various events. As we hear of things happening we will update this page. If you know of anything NOT on these pages, do let us know and happy to add it to the list. The Members of the Followers of Rupert will, of course, be holding a rather special 'Annual' in August but the purpose of this page is to list other events or stories about Rupert in his centenary year.
Warwick 2020 - Fun Day cancelled
The Followers Annual Fun Day and AGM for 2020 had to be cancelled due to the Corona virus pandemic.
However, Members enjoyed a virtual Fun Day with videos and clips from past meetings shown throughout the day, via the Group's Facebook Page. These are still available for Members to view on-line, by logging in to the Members' Home Page, so that non-Facebook-using Members don't miss out.
Members, more information will be found on the Members Only side of the website and in the Nutwood Newsletter.

We have heard that Egmont, in addition to a Rupert Annual for 2020, have produced a lovely hard-backed book with eight of Alfred Bestall's stories. The book is available on Amazon - but beware!!
This book is actually a reprint of 'Rupert, a Collection of Favourite Stories' published in 2007. The 2007 version was in a slip-case and the 2020 version may have some extra introductory pages, but the stories are the same. The 2007 version is available on eBay.
The Oldie Magazine
The Oldie magazine celebrated Rupert's centenary year with the March 2020 issue by featuring him on the front cover, and with a piece in Gyles Brandreth’s Diary in the magazine
